How destructive is the middle class?

Patrick Noble proposes that the gathering of rent for status - 'status enclosure' - is the central process by which we become middle class, and a major cause of the global crises we're facing. "If we remove that fixed, defensive gaze on our land and status properties, and then look up, and then, out and about, we’ll see the world expand."

Growing people not economies

In this article I argue that theories are often used as justification to push people around and to bully them - particularly economic theories. If the future is one where we "grow people" rather than "growing economies" we need very different kinds of arrangements and skills - and we should start in our own movement.

The Commons of Soil

Laws of physics, which are about to disappoint European and American desires may simultaneously liberate us onto a lost Common. All that is best in life is encompassed by common humanity and is in no way reduced by a mere oil-deprivation.
