Exploring the Community Land Trust Model for Ireland: June 10 2015

Royal Institute of the Architects of Ireland (RIAI)
Wednesday, 10 June 2015 from 09:30 to 17:30 (IST)
Dublin 2, Ireland

The recent NESC Report on Housing strongly endorsed the concept of Community Land Trusts. Register your interest early in this joint RIAI & Urban Forum colloquium in June as places are limited.

The day long event will explore the potential for Ireland of the Community Land Trust, an emerging model for sustainable affordable housing provision in the US, Canada and the UK. The main feature of a Community Land Trust is that the ownership of all the land, including under buildings, is held in trust to benefit the local community in perpetuity. Building owners, whether homeowner, housing association, cooperative or private investor pay a modest, predictable rent for the use of the land. This can cut the upfront cost of property by up to 60% in high value city neighbourhoods.

Concessions will be available for NGOs and unwaged etc. Book now to register your interest to avail of concessions.
