Carbon credits, taxes and swaps–what’s not to love? Those who perceive climate change as the biggest threat we have to tackle have been played by the corporations. The author here rightfully puts climate change in its place; one of many threats converging in a catastrophe due to too much growth of human economies. And climatologist models fail to incorporate thermodynamic constraints of peak oil and feedback loops, so the jury is still out on the relative impact–model outputs vary by 16 degrees C, which means the models are GIGO.

With consumers’ fears misdirected to relatively low-threat, far-flung problems that can be discounted, the corporations can control the message, continue to foster growth and consumption, and make a profit too. Floro, you might want to take a look at some of these issues below:
